VICKSBURG, MS: Funeral services for Willie James Truitt., 48, who died Saturday, January 31, in Vicksburg, Ms, will be held at 2p.m., Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Community Christian Church, 2079 Woodvine Road, Lorman, Ms with Rev. Dr. James Burks officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Memorial Garden Cemetery with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, from 1p.m. until 5p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday, from 1p.m. until service time at the church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Banks and Diane Truitt Banks; his biological mother, Barbara Ann Truitt; two children, Mar’Quez Truitt and Mar’Sheondre Truitt; and siblings, Willette White and Curby Lamar Truitt.
Mr. Truitt is survived by eleven children, Mar’Twan South, Mar’Quell South, Mar’Kiya South, Mar’Kayla South, Mar’Sheontae Truitt and Mar’Sheon Truitt, all of Greenville, MS; Willie Truitt, Jr. of Germany, Tahmaya Stewart, Rikeria Davis and James Wright, all of Vicksburg, MS and Elianna Lumpkin of Dallas, TX; a granddaughter, Kalani Stewart of Vicksburg, MS; his wife, Kawanna Truitt of Greenville, MS; a special friend, Aretha Wright of Vicksburg, MS; two sisters, Natasha (Charles) Ganes and Sharon Banks, both of Vicksburg, MS; five brothers, George (Brenda) Truitt of Jackson, MS, Tekoa (Felicia) Banks and Daron (Cynthia) Banks, both of Vicksburg, MS, Emmanuel (Rhonda) Banks of Oklahoma City, OK and Samuel (Jennifer) Banks of Tecumseh, OK; two aunts, Dorine Truitt and Jacqueline Wilkerson, both of Port Gibson, MS; five uncles, Michael Truitt and Shelby Truitt, both of OK, Randy Truitt of Jackson, MS, Julius Truitt of Port Gibson, MS and Jason Jackson of PA; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
